Designing and launching Rave Panic Button was and remains one of the most important things I have been part of in my career. The most widely deployed school safety application in the country, Panic Button helps school personnel and first responders reduce response times and save lives during critical events.
Accurate Activation
To avoid false emergency calls, which cost cities and schools undue anxiety and resources, I worked with customers to design, test, and employ two-factor authentication for making a panic call. Developing slide-to-unlock and press-and-hold features drastically reduced false activations, resulting in far better situational accuracy.

MSI CC Responder
An important product integration in 2024 was getting Panic Calls on MSI’s responder mobile app, where first responders are alerted with the emergency type, location, facility data, and their allocated tasks. This intelligence enables faster response and far better situational awareness when going into a potentially dangerous scene.

High-Velocity Situational Awareness
En route to a scene, responders receive critical information about the situation, location, relevant facility details, and most importantly, operational protocols based on the emergency type and boiled down to their individual tasks. This helps not only in response but in reporting and incident analysis after the fact.

If a 911 call is made to any command center that uses Rave or MSI software, any commercial and residential information appears for call takers and responders to act on quickly and accurately, drastically decreasing response time while arming responders with critical response data.
